光栄なことに、写真家のハービー・山口さんとNEUNOAのコラボレーション作品を制作させていただきました。
本作は、ハービーさんが1970年代後半のロンドンにおけるパンクロック／ニューウェーブのムーブメントの只中で撮影された、ミュージシャン「ザ・クラッシュのジョー・ストラマー」の写真をベースに、NEUNOAがペイントを施したコラボレーション作品です。
ハービーさんの「人の希望を撮りたい」という人間の内奥にある美しさと優しさを見出す写真への情熱と、NEUNOAの視覚的表層から切り離された「人間の内奥にある価値」を浮かび上がらせる作風が重なることで、お互いのメッセージが、鑑賞者の方々により深く届くことを願って制作しました。
この試みに快くご快諾くださったハービーさんへ、心より感謝申し上げます。
また本作は、インドネシア・ジャカルタで開催されるアートフェア「Art Jakarta Papers 2026」にてRika Contemporaryより出展予定となります。お近くにお越しの際は是非お立ち寄りいただければ幸いです。
NEUNOA has had the honor of creating a collaborative work with photographer Herbie Yamaguchi.
This work is based on a photograph Herbie captured in late-1970s London amid the punk rock and new wave movement, depicting the musician Joe Strummer of The Clash, with additional painting applied by NEUNOA. The piece was created with the hope that Herbie’s passion to “photograph people’s hope,” finding beauty and kindness within the human spirit, and NEUNOA’s approach of foregrounding “inner human value” beyond visual surface, would resonate together and reach viewers more deeply. Sincere gratitude is extended to Herbie for graciously accepting this collaboration.
This work is also scheduled to be presented by Rika Contemporary at the art fair Art Jakarta Papers 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia. If you are in the area, your visit would be most welcome.
